If you are thinking of selling your car and live in Liverpool, Wirral, St Helens or Southport then there are a number of ways to do this.
Sell my car privately
You can advertise very cheaply to sell your car by placing an advert with the main details in the car window. The most effective adverts are usually those with a price, year and phone number as most people won't be bothered if they have to get within 12 inches to read your detailed description.
You can also advertise in the Motors section of the local press and on a number of websites.
Sell your car to the trade
Many used car dealers offer to buy cars direct from their owners as a way of replenishing stock. Call a few as many will offer a 'ball-park' figure over the phone. This will be based on the information you provide and will be subject to them seeing the car. You will only be offered trade price but you will know what you are getting and the sale could be completed quickly without the hassle of advertising, waiting in for calls, test drives etc.
Part exchange your car
If the reason you are selling your car is to buy another then consider placing yours as a part exchange against the new car. This is a simple way of doing the buying and selling in one go but can have two downsides: you will only be offered the trade price for your old car and you will not be able to haggle over the asking price of the new car (part exchanges are offered against the screen price).
To get the best deal you should sell your old car privately and then go to the car dealer looking for a cash (or financed) deal. Don't worry you will not get the best deal if you don't have ready cash - car dealers receive commission on finance deals so they will be more than happy to arrange finance for you.
